LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has started token tax collection from defaulter vehicles.
The department has huge shortfall in tax collection and formed number of special teams to check the defaulter vehicles on the roads in order to overcome tax theft. The staff of the teams has been taken from the professional tax branch which is affecting the performance of other departments of excise as it is using maximum force to collect token tax from the defaulter vehicles.
During the month of January and up to mid of February excise Motor Branch has taken strict action across the province. The teams checked thousands of vehicles on roads and seized documents of defaulters. Excise has also seized number of token tax defaulter vehicles.
