Lahore: Excise to seize token tax defaulting vehicles from Monday

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has decided to seize token tax defaulting vehicles from Monday. No concession will be given to the defaulters.

Sources told Customs Today that strict crackdown is likely to start from Monday in Lahore and all over Punjab against token tax defaulting vehicles and the owners who have failed to submit due taxes will face seizure of their vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Excise Motor Branch seized documents of 400 defaulting vehicles in one week and this operation will be expanded in future also.

While in Kasur district Excise police also sealed towers, factories, shops, electronic workshops and buildings due to property tax default ETO Kasur Malik Muhammad Aslam informred Customs Today. In Kasur Excise has impounded 75 defaulting vehicles and recovered a huge amount of taxes from token tax defaulters and from property tax defaulters as well.
