Lahore I&I seizes smuggled cloth worth Rs30m at Anarkali

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) team has seized smuggled cloth worth more than Rs30 million in an operation at Anarkali Bazaar in Lahore.

Sources told Customs Today, that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Saima Shahzad received credible information about smuggled cloth dumped in a shop located in Anarkali Bazaar. She immediately constituted a team under the supervision of Additional Director Rizwan Bashir.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation team carried out the operation on the direction of DG Intelligence Faiz Ahmad Chadhar. The team, led by superintendent Rai Waqar, searched out the area and seized smuggled cloth which had been concealed in shops.

The anti-smuggling watchdog had been working effectively and carrying out operations to curb smuggling, said an official.
