Lahore RTO-II collects Rs 42m thru 389 returns under VTCS

LAHORE: Regional Tax Office (RTO)-II has collected Rs 42 million through 389returns it received under the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS), FBR data showed Monday.

It is pertinent to mention here that FBR had set March 15 the last date for filing returns of tax for non-filers and the deadline would end by Tuesday midnight. The government, at the beginning of this year had announced VTCS, a text amnesty scheme to facilitate non-filers to register themselves in the tax net. For the facilitation of the filers, the government also provided extensions in the date and the last date for filing was fixed March 15.
