Lahore to have first Excise Police Station soon

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has finalized the project of Excise Police Stations in all Divisions of Punjab. First Excise Police Station will be established in Lahore. Preparation of PC1 for Lahore project is under process. The project is expected to start soon.

According to Excise officials Anti narcotics Police station in Lahore will be constructed soon and and committee is preparing the estimated cost for this. PC1 is under process of finalization of the location, structure of the building, and purposes of the station. Execution system, operation, maintenance and final objectives of the project are also in pipe line.

The Punjab government has already approved the formation of provincial narcotics control committee and to establish special police stations of Excise and Taxation in all divisions of Punjab. These police stations will be established in all divisions of Punjab including Lahore, Mianwali, Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Bahawalnagar and DI Khan. Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has approved the summary of former Secretary Excise Khalid Masood Chaudhary to establish Anti Narcotics police stations and the formation of narcotics control committee.

After the approval of this summery, the Secretary Excise has directed the Director General to take necessary measures to establish these police stations in four Divisions at first as soon as possible and to keep Lahore on priority.

These Excise Anti Narcotics police stations will control the narcotics business and reduce the use of drugs in these divisions. These police stations will be fully authorized in investigation of accused to control the crime in their respective areas.

ETO, AETO and three inspectors with constables will be taken from every division to appoint in their respective police stations. They will get training from anti-narcotics training center, Rawalpindi. ETO will wear uniform equal to SP and AETO will use DSP level uniform.
