Land record of 143 tehsils being computerised: 99% beneficiaries are satisfied, World Bank Mission told

LAHORE: A World Bank Mission has visited Land Record Centre Walton Cantonment, where it was briefed on the progress and new initiatives in computerisation of land records in the province.

Zafar Iqbal, one of the officials of Project Management Unit (PMU) Board of Revenue Punjab, said that the computerised land record services had been commenced in 143 tehsils of Punjab through which ‘fard’ was issued in 30 minutes and mutation was attested in just 50 minutes.

The mission was told more than 99 percent of the beneficiaries were satisfied with the services and PMU achieved all the targets agreed with the WB in time.

The mission observed process of service delivery and interacted with the customers at the Centre. The Mission endorsed the vision of Punjab Chief Minister LRMIS would lead to beat corruption and promote transparency, besides facilitating the public at large. Edward Cook, Igor Popiv, Tony Burns and Samina Islam were members among the WB Mission.
