Large-scale manufacturing grows by 5.46pc in Jul-Oct

ISLAMABAD: The Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) production grew by 5.46 percent during the period from July to October 2020, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.

As per details, the major sectors that showed positive growth during the period included textile (2.24%) food, beverages and tobacco (12.16%), petroleum products (1.57%), pharmaceuticals (13.53 %), chemicals (9.22%) and fertilizers (5.99%).

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, in a tweet, on Tuesday said that large-scale manufacturing grew by 5.46 per cent during the July-October period of the current fiscal year as against last year’s corresponding period.

“Growth in October was even higher at 6.66% vs October last year,” he pointed out.
