NEW YORK: WhatsApp recently introduced an update for iPhone users who are using iOS 4.3 and above. The latest version of WhatsApp free download, which is also available in the iTunes App Store, is 2.11.16 and it’s equipped with a bunch of bug fixes that will ensure the application runs smoothly.

Whether the latest improvements in the general functionality of the instant messaging app are aimed at paving way for the introduction of new WhatsApp voice calling feature for iOS users cannot be determined just yet. Better still, it is time iOS users to get a taste of some of the features android users have been enjoying for ages and one of them has been added in the latest WhatsApp free download v2.11.16 broadcast lists.

Latest WhatsApp free download available in App Store

As noted above, all users of iPhones running on iOS 4.3 and later can get the updated version of WhatsApp from the official Apple App Store.

The millions of iPhone users using this instant messaging application had expected more in the shape of a new WhatsApp voice calling feature, or at least added support for WhatsApp Web. However, none of this has showed up in the latest WhatsApp free download 2.11.16 for iOS users. These features are already available for android devices installed with the latest version of WhatsApp.

WhatsApp Web was released early this year and using this application, it is possible to receive and send WhatsApp messages using a desktop. The whole process involves the use of a web browser. The client initially supported Google Chrome only, but recent updates have seen the inclusion of Mozilla Firefox and Opera browsers as well. Despite these additions, there is still no room for Apple’s Safari and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, but since Firefox and Opera were just added to the platform, it is expected that Safari, IE and many other major web browsers will be included in future updates.

WhatsApp Web also lacks support for iOS devices in that only Android, Windows Phone and some Nokia and BlackBerry devices can be used to access WhatsApp Web on PCs. According to WhatsApp, there are “Apple platform limitations” that hinder the introduction of this new WhatsApp Web for PC for iOS users. The latest version of WhatsApp 2.11.16 free download for iOS is equipped with enhanced features and more bug fixes for this group of users, but there is still no support for WhatsApp Web. In order to use WhatsApp Web on a Mac, you need to get a supported mobile phone, for instance android and use it to connect to this application.

WhatsApp 2.11.16 free download comes with broadcast lists for iPhone users

WhatsApp is famous for its unmatched instant messaging services. You can send texts, images, videos as well as voice notes to any person using WhatsApp for free. You can do this to an individual or create a group of up to 100 people and share the same message with them.

Alternatively, there is a new way of sharing a message with your friends. Using broadcast lists feature, you can easily create a group of people who you wish to share a message with. The message you send to this list will only be visible to those people who are in the list. Thus, rather than creating a group on WhatsApp latest version for iOS, you can use broadcast lists to send one single message to a private group of people. The good thing with this broadcast list is that unlike groups, it can accommodate up to 256 members.

How to create WhatsApp broadcast lists in iOS

To create a broadcast list on your WhatsApp for iPhone, tap on the ‘Chats tab’ from the lower end and follow it by selecting “Broadcast Lists” that you see at the top. Follow it by tapping on the “New List” and then proceed by adding the names of people you want on this list. After you are done adding, scroll to the top of the page and tap on “Create.” You can name the List however you want.

To share a message using broadcast lists, go to Chats. Then select ‘Broadcast List’ and then ‘Existing Broadcast List’. Now you can create your message and then press “Send.”

You can also remove someone from a broadcast list in a few very easy steps. All you need is to touch on the “Chats” tab at the end of the page and select “Broadcast List” from the top. Go ahead and touch the “i” icon and that will help you add new or delete old contacts. You can also clear the list by touching on ‘Edit’ located at the upper right side and by tapping on the tab in red colour. After that, you can go ahead and tap on “Delete” and the broadcast list will be deleted.
