WASHINGTON: Latvia’s small ports handled 497,800 tons of cargo in the first four months of the year, which is 0.9% less than in the first four months of 2015, when the ports handled 502,200 tons of cargo, the Transport Ministry informed LETA.
The largest cargo turnover was registered at Skulte Port – 223,800 tons. This is 3.1% more than in 2015. Mersrags Port’s cargo turnover decreased 9% to 165,200 tons. Salacgriva Port’s cargo turnover was 87,800 tons – a 2.1% decrease. Roja Port handled 21,00 tons of cargo in January-April, which is 25.7% more than the previous year.
