Lava unveils Iris X8 with octa-core processor, 16GB storage, 8MP camera for Rs 8,999 in India

NEW DELHI: Lava has officially initiated the Iris X8 in the Indian market and has even begun teasing the upcoming device on its website. The iris X8 is the successor to the X5 launched last year

Now, e-commerce website Flipkart ‘accidentally’ listed the smartphone on its website, before it was subsequently pulled out. However, not before FoneArena managed to get the details.

The Iris X8, according to the report, was listed for Rs 8,999. The X8 is believed to Lava’s answer to Micromax’s Yu Yureka.

The listing also showed the X8 as a dual SIM smartphone sporting a 5-inch HD IPS display along with a layer of Asahi Dragontrail glass protection. On the camera front, expect an 8MP rear snapper and a 3MP front-facing camera.

This time around, Lava has employed a 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek processor coupled with 2GB RAM. With 16GB of onboard storage, it also supports microSD cards of up to 32GB. The device runs Android KitKat and Lava claims that it will support Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade, and a 2500mAh battery completes the package.
