MUMBAI: Lava starts Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Iris Fuel 50. The company has said that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is being pushed out over-the-air (OTA) and users once connect to the Internet should receive a notification informing them about the update.
However, it said the users can also manually check for the update by going to Settings > About phone > Software update on the Iris Fuel 50 smartphone.
The Android 5.0 Lollipop update is about 550MB in size.
On its official blog, Lava has listed some key features of the update essentially changes that Lollipop brought to the platform.
It reads that Android 5.0 Lollipop features an improved notification system apart from Material Design. It has got a Kill Switch and improved security; improved hardware keyboard accessory support (including support for multilingual, emoji input, search key, and improved app and system key chords), support for 15 new languages (including Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu) and much more additions.
The Lava Iris Fuel 50 smartphone was launched in October at Rs. 7,799. The device is dual-SIM and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box with a 5-inch (480×854 pixels) FWVGA IPS display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core (unspecified chipset) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
It sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual-LED flash, while there is a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera also on board.
