Lawyers boycott court proceedings against kidnapping of SHC CJ’s Son

LAHORE: The lawyers community in Lahore and other cities of the province observed strike on Friday against the kidnapping of Chief Justice Sindh High Court’s (SHC) son Awais Shah.

The call of the strike was given by the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC). The lawyers completely boycotted the court proceedings while several important cases were adjourned without hearing. In Lahore, a protest was staged in the district courts and sessions court.

A number of cases was also scheduled in customs court that could not be heard due to boycott of the lawyers.

Lawyers’ communities adopted stance that federal and provincial government should review the law and order situation in the country and ensure the protection of life and property of the citizens. They also demanded that Chief Justice SHC’s son should be recovered soon.
