Lawyers boycott court proceedings to support traders

LAHORE: Lawyers in Punjab, especially of Lahore, boycotted the court proceedings in support of traders against withholding tax on bank transactions.

On Saturday, lawyers were not available in Customs Court, Lahore High Court and other small courts of the city. Lawyers community boycotted the proceedings to show solidarity with business community and traders. Due to boycott by the lawyers in Customs Court more than two dozens of cases were affected as there was no presence of lawyers to defend their cases.
