At the Lahore Customs Court and other federal courts, lawyers boycotted the proceedings on the appeal of the Punjab Bar Council (PBC).

Lawyers also observed strike in other cities of the country; resolutions condemning the police brutality were also passed by the associations of various bar councils.

The legal fraternity has demanded that the government should bring the killers of their colleague to justice

On Monday due to boycott of the lawyers dozens of cases in Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling were adjourned for next dates due to the unavailability of lawyers.

Lawyers also demanded daily basis trial of the case in which a SHO of Daska Shahzad Waraich shot dead two layers inside the police station including president of Daska bar association.

Now onward from next Monday, lawyers’ community will just protest symbolically because judicial trial of the accused has started. It was decided in a meeting of Pakistan bar council, Lahore bar council and other lawyers’ forums here in Lahore.
