Lawyers to boycott Customs Court proceedings on Iqbal Day

LAHORE: Lawyers of the Special Federal Court of Customs, Taxation and Anti Smuggling will not attend the court proceedings on the occasion of Allama Iqbal Day on November 9.

Talking to Customs Today, renowned lawyer Asad Ali Goraya said that the lawyers will organize special seminars to commemorate the great poet of the East and will not appear in courts.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Bar Council has also announced that it will not attend the court proceedings. According to a statement issued by the Punjab Bar Council, lawyers will not appear in the courts on Iqbal Day. Lawyers demanded that federal government should declare public holiday on Allama Iqbal Day.
