The LCCI President said that CASA-1000 would only be beneficial for Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan but would also pave way for more collaboration between the Central Asian States and South Asia.

He hoped that government would not only ensure timely completion of CASA-1000 but would also launch new power projects with the local resources.

Sheikh Muhammad Arshad said that indigenous resources like sun and wind should be used continuously to overcome the energy crisis and reduce dependence on imported fuel.

He appealed to the domestic users to utilise solar means of power generation at their residences to reduce load on the national grid and ensure availability of electricity for trade and industry.

He said that the government should also expedite work on hydro power projects so the masses could get cheaper electricity.
