LCCI hails extension in filing of IT returns by November 15

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the date for filing of Income Tax Returns up to November 15. It is reiterated that in order to avoid excessive traffic kindly submit such return well in time.

Earlier, October 31 was the last date for filing of income tax return while the business community and tax practioners have urged the FBR to extend the date for filing return to upto December 31.

However on the other hand business community and tax has demanded extension in date of filing return till December 31, 2017 for achieving revenue target and broadening of tax net.

LCCI President Tahir Javaid Malik has said that extending date for filing tax return is beneficial for the board to make a big total.  LCCI former Vice President Kashif Anwer said that extension in date for filing income tax return by December 31 will enable the FBR not achieve the revenue target but also to extend tax base.
