LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) has passed a resolution to condemn the killing of innocent churchgoers in Lahore.
LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz presided over a meeting while Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir and Executive Committee Members were present. The resolution said that the barbaric act of church attacks has badly tarnished the soft image of the country.
The executive committee called for a sustained and well coordinated action to cope with the menace of terrorism.
Mumtaz said that the business community understands well that sincere and serious efforts are being made by the top brass of the police force and anti-terrorist agencies of Pakistan, and they have, in many ways, succeeded in uprooting the menace to a great extent. These efforts are, without doubt, greatly commendable. The sacrifices made by the Pakistan Army as well as persons from anti-terrorist agencies in discharging their duties to the nation are worth-saluting.
The LCCI president said that the business community would not stay behind and would extend all possible cooperation to the government for the cause of national interests.
