LAHORE: The LCCI has deeply regretted over the arrest of genuine importers of chemical and taxpayers by the City administration.

The LCCI President said that it was very unfortunate that the police had wrongly taken into custody four Circular Road businessmen over the charges of selling sensitive chemicals notified by the District Coordination Officer (DCO).

The LCCI President said that the way the raids were conducted and their godowns were sealed had caused undue harassment among the businessmen working in the area.

Farooq Iftikhar said that the business community wanted of the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to direct a thorough probe into the issue as it seemed that some anti-government people were trying to defame the government.

The LCCI President said that raids and arrests should be the last option as they spoil business atmosphere and causes undue damage to the economic activities.
