US EXIM Bank offers financing to Pak importers/exporters on easy terms: J Ellis

LAHORE: Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) Global Business Development Vice President Raymond J Ellis has said that Pakistan has enormous business opportunities and his bank is there to provide finance on easy terms to the businessmen to explore the untapped potential.

Ellis expressed these view while giving an exclusive bite to Customs Today on the sidelines of his meeting with the importers and exporters at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday.

He said that Pakistan’s economy was moving upward and the US EXIM Bank could finance the business projects of Pakistani importers, exporters and businessmen to fill the gap in standard commercial trade financing, loan guarantees, direct loans and export credit to further boost up the growth.

He added that his bank has no minimum or maximum transaction size amount and no country limits.

Raymond J Ellis revealed that the basic objective of the Export-Import Bank of the United States was to plan, promote and develop exports and imports of the country.

On the occasion LCCI President Ijaz A Mumtaz said that US has been a very important trading partner of Pakistan for decades, besides, it is among the top exporting and importing countries for Pakistan.

Mumtaz appreciated the role of the US Consulate in Lahore for strengthening the trade and economic ties between the two countries.

US Consul General Zachary Harkenrider, Commercial Counselor Cheryl J Dukelow, LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir, former LCCI senior vice president Mian Tariq Misbah and Executive Committee members also spoke on the occasion.
