LEAs, Pakistan Customs tighten security at oil depot in Kiamari after threats

KARACHI: Pakistan Customs, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Pakistan Rangers, Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency officials attended a meeting of an Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) to beef up security at oil depot following threat of an attack from the banned/outlawed organization.

Sources informed Customs Today that the law enforcing agencies (LEAs) have confirmed reports that the terrorists of banned outfits might target the oil terminal located in Kiamari area of Karachi. The LEAs have already beefed up security in and around the oil terminal.

It was decided in the meeting that the security of the oil terminal will be beefed up to avoid any untoward incident.

It is pertinent to mention here that a huge deposit of oil imported from different foreign countries is deposited at oil terminal under the supervision of Pakistan Customs adding that the officers of the Model Customs Collectorate’s Oil Section are looking after the procedure of oil deposits.
