BERLIN: The LEGO FERRARI F40 will be available for sale on 1 August with a retail price of $129.99. With more than 1100 pieces, the Lego Ferrari F40 is likely to become this year’s hottest Lego gift. From the Lego Creator Expert series, the F40 gets pop-up headlights, side air intakes and a vented rear hatch that lifts up to expose the V8 engine. The twin-turbo V8 can be removed from the engine bay for closer inspection once you’ve built it, of course.

“Open the doors and you’ll discover complete authenticity, right down to the crafted cabled door handles, steering wheel with Ferrari logo and two red racing seats, while under the hood you’ll find a luggage compartment and tools. A special windscreen element with printed A-pillars and custom-made, molded rim inserts with sturdy, road-gripping tires add the final touches to this intricately designed model, a must-have for all Ferrari fans!” Lego said in a statement.

The Lego Ferrari F40 measures 27cm long, 14cm wide and 8cm high, and is aimed at builders 14-years and older. We’d suggest that most buyers will be in the ‘older’ category.
