CALIFORNIA: Lenovo will soon launch Android devices including 4G-ready A7000 smartphone, TAB 2 A8 and TAB 2 A10-70 which are recently unveiled at MWC 2015.

First up is the dual-SIM, 4G-ready Lenovo A7000 smartphone, which features a 5.5in display (720p), octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at up to 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 2,900mAh battery, and 8GB of on-board storage (plus a microSD card slot to add another 32GB).

The handset comes with an 8-megapixel primary camera, 5-megapixel front shooter, and ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop, though Lenovo’s skin is on the heavy side, so those of you prefer vanilla Android may want to look elsewhere.

As for the Dolby sound itself, it’s a headphones-only experience given the nature of the device, but we’ve heard Atmos in the flesh before and it really is excellent.

The Lenovo TAB 2 A8 and TAB 2 A10-70 (8in and 10in devices, respectively) also feature Android Lollipop and Atmos sound. In fact, the A8 could be regarded as an extra-large phablet, as it features a SIM card slot for cellular connectivity.

All of the new products are definitely mid-range devices, with decent but not outstanding specs and cheap-ish builds. That said, they’re going to be competitively priced (the A7000 is pegged at $170, so should land in the UK for around £130), and the Atmos sound is a real selling point for audio buffs.

The A7000 will be released in June, while the two tablets should be available by the end of April.
