LAHORE: Lahore High Court issued written judgment and levy of 15 percent regulatory duty on sanitary items imported through Free Trade Agreement (FTA) from China.
Mr. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah written the judgment which comprises on six pages. In its judgment Court says that according to Pakistan China Free Trade Agreement 20 percent customs duty may be imposed on imported items except this no other tax will be imposed on imported items. Court further says that Customs authorities are not legally authorize to levy 15 percent regulatory duty .
In their plea the applicants request Court to declare 15 percent regulatory duty on imported sanitary items from China as null and void. Earlier, Court already declared this regulatory duty as null and void.
