PESHAWAR: Revival and promotion of industry in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is linked with conducive environment therefore the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should revisit the recently imposed Cargo tax.

He pointed out that development of industrial sector was inevitable to augment income of the provincial government, reduce unemployment and combat radicalism.

He demanded of the provincial government to revisit recently-imposed one percent cargo tax and instead, proposed the levy restricted to ISAF Cargo only.

Dr Murtaza Mughal observed that freight subsidy for freight equalisation on industrial inputs, a five-year extension in the financial package, proper gas pressure, improving shambling SME sector, and refining needlessly cumbersome regulations could bring a change. He said the province possessed vast natural and human resources, adding that there was dire need for gradually identification and development of all these areas for attracting investment from in and outside the country.
