LG Bello II will arrive in key markets in Latin America and India this month

TOKYO: LG has unveiled a new budget smartphone dubbed Bello II today in India. As the name suggests, the new phone is the second iteration to the L Bello that was launched in August last year. The LG Bello II will arrive in key markets in Latin America and India this month and will be followed by rollouts in Europe and CIS throughout the third quarter.

The phone will be marketed as the LG Max in India, Mexico, Russia and other Commonwealth countries and as the LG Prime II in Brazil and Chile. Pricing information will be revealed closer to launch. The device will be available in White, Titan, and Gold colour options and comes in single or dual-SIM variant.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 5.0-inch FWVGA display with a 854 x 480 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM. It packs in an internal storage at 8GB and can be further expanded via microSD card.

It comes equipped with a 8MP rear camera with LED flash along with a 5MP front facing camera which also, has LED flash. It includes features such as Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash, carried over from its G Series. The handset is running LG UX 4.0 atop Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone features 3G connectivity support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, and Micro-USB. The smartphone packs in a 2540mAh removable battery.

Commenting on the launch, Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said, “The LG Bello II brings unprecedented value to 3G markets, which still account for a significant 40 percent of smartphone markets.” He adds, “With its 5-megapixel selfie camera, large display and familiar features, the LG Bello II is a great balance of form, function and price, which is why we expect to be even more successful than its predecessor.”
