Embezzlement of pension funds: LHC accepts bail pleas of two suspects

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has accepted bail pleas of two suspects who are involved in embezzlement of pension funds of employees of Punjab Small Industries Department.

According to details, two member bench of LHC headed by Justice Shahabaz Ali Rizvi heared the case of suspects Jaffar and Abdur Razzaq in embezellemnt of pension of the Punjab Small Industries employees.

The counsel of suspects argued before the court that authorities detected a fraud of Rs 20 million in pension funds of Punjab Small Industries employees. He further argued that investigations of NAB also declared that accuesd Jaffar and Abdur Razaq did not take any benefits from pension funds. He appealed to court to accept bail pleas of accused persons.

On other side NAB prosecutor that both accused person are involved in embezzlement of pension funds.

After hearing the arguements from both sides the court has accepted the temporary bail of both suspects Jaffar and Abdur Razzaq against the gurrentee of Rs 1 million each.
