LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) admitted a petition not to decrease petroleum prices by the government. The petition is moved by chairman of Judicial Activism Panel Azhar Siddique advocate.
In his petition Azhar Siddique said that government imposed 50 percent sales tax on petroleum products to cover budget deficit of 2015. He said that government is going to announce new budget in couple of days but the ratio of sales tax remained same.
He said that government violates section 3,9 and 14 of the constitution. He prayed to court to declare additional sales tax on petroleum products as null and void.
