LHC approves bail of accused involved in gold smuggling

LAHORE: the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has approved the post arrest bail plea of accused Muhammad Rizwan after the Customs Court rejected his bail petition.

Earlier, the Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling during hearing the case had disposed of the post arrest bail plea of Muhammad Rizwan. The suspect has alleged connection with some political figures of Lahore and was arrested by Customs Preventive authorities at Allama Iqbal International airport after seven kilograms of gold was recovered from him. Muhammad Rizwan son of Hidayatullah is a resident of Kot Khawaja Saeed, Lahore. The market value of the seized gold is Rs 30 million.
