LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has restricted the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) from tax recovery from a renowned paint company till the decision of Commissioner Appeals of FBR.
According to the details, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the appeal filed by the M/s Berger Paint Company in which Counsel for the appeals argued that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sent 484 million tax recovery notices to the company.
Added more, case is under proceeding by the Commissioner Appeals and according to the law Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) cannot recover the tax till the order of Commissioner Appeals.
Counsel prayed before the court that FBR pressuring the appellant illegally for tax payment so court may stop the FBR for tax recovery and orders to Commissioner Appeals to decide the case.
After hearing the arguments Court has restricted the FBR from tax recovery and ordered the Commissioner Appeals to hear the arguments of appellant and decide the case within 30 days.
