LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has granted interim bail to two female suspects of facilitating the accused persons in smuggling of gold worth around Rs 31 million.

The lawyer added that both females have been part of the case due to their relationship with the accused persons, adding that his clients are innocent, as nothing was recovered from their possession. He asked the court to grant interim bail to them.

Customs Inspector Ahmad Khan and other officers appeared before the court and argued that both females were found involved in facilitating the suspect during initial investigations. They also asked the court to reject the bail plea.

It may be mentioned here that the Customs Preventive foiled a bid to smuggle gold jewellery worth around Rs 31.50 million at Lahore airport and arrested two suspects. The both suspects were trying to smuggle the gold to Dubai through a flight No EK-623.
