LHC grants bail to four accused involved in tax evasion

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) accepted the bail of four accused persons till January 4, 2016  in Rs 200 million customs duty evasion case.  LHC also seeks reply from the customs autharities on next date of hearing.

According to details, LHC Judge Justice Abdus Sami Khan heard the case against the Customs House agent Ikaramul Haq and his companions Ihtashamul Haq, Saeed Bhatti and other. During hearing of the case counsel of accused argued that customs autharities registered baseless case against Ikram ul Haq and others.

He added that customs autharities blamed that accused evaded customs duty on the import of electrical silicon steel plates which used in transfermers, generators and fans. He added that the trail court has rejected bail of the accused.

He informed the court that his clients are ready to face investigations, and all the proof against his clients are false so court should accept their bail petitions. After initial hearing the court bars the customs autharities to arrest accused and ordered to submit reply during next hearing of the case.
