LHC notifies Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan as customs judge in Rawalpindi

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued a notification to appoint Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan as judge at Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Court Rawalpindi.

According to notification, the LHC transferred Rana Aftab from the post of Additional Session Judge Samundri Faisalabad to Rawalpindi Customs Court.

The Chief Justice and judges were pleased to place the services of Rana Aftab Ahmad Khan, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sammundri, on promotion as District and Sessions Judge, in the public interest, at the disposal of that Federal government, for his posting as Judge, Special Court (Customs, Taxation and Anti-Smuggling), Rawalpindi, on deputation basis in his own pay and scale, for a period of three years. The officer shall assume charge of his new assignment on or before 4 may 2015.

Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Court is hearing the case of famous top model Ayyan Ali. This case is getting more important as names of political entities are listening behinds the scenario.

Few days before this notification, another notification was issued by LHC to appoint Banking Court Judge as Customs Judge Rawalpindi. Now another notification has been issued to appoint new judge at Customs Court Rawalpindi which is hot issue these days.
