LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has issued notices to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and summoned NAB prosecutor general in a petition seeking directives for bureau to hold inquiry into Panama leaks and deferred hearing until Oct 5.
A division bench, headed by Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf, issued the notices on a petition filed by a local journalist. During the hearing, Advocate Azhar Siddique appeared in the court as petitioner’s counsel and argued that the matter of the Panama Papers was very sensitive and needed to be investigated without any delay as allegations of establishing offshore companies by the rulers brought a bad name to the country.
