LHC orders customs authorities to release 3500-CC vehicle to its owner

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the customs authorities to release a vehicle to its lawful owner which was taken into possession by the customs authorities on the alleged charge of smuggling.

Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has heard the appeal filed by one Abdul Rehman, a Pakistani citizen.

The counsel for appellant filed the case in the court and maintained that the customs authorities have impounded the 3500-CC vehicle of the petitioner on the smuggling charge. Upon the demand, the plaintiff had also showed the legal documents of the vehicle to the customs authorities.

Despite showing the documents of the legal possession of the vehicle, the authorities did not release the vehicle to its authorized owner. So he appealed the court to issue the order for releasing the vehicle to the its lawful owner.

After hearing the arguments from appellant, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued the order to customs authorities to release the vehicle to Abdul Rehman, owner of vehicle.
