LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Court to complete the trial of Punjab Bank scandal as soon as possible. The court has also called the counsels of both parties to present final arguments before the court until October 22.
As per details, a two-member bench headed by Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa heard the case of the suspect, Shiekh Afzal, in Punjab Bank scandal .
Advocate of the appellant argued before the court that NAB has already recovered enough money from the accused while NAB is demanding more. The suspect has also filed an application for the specification of liabilities.
He added that according to NAB, the amount payable by the accused is Rs 8.4 billion but the accused claims that liability is Rs 5.40 billion only. He submitted that NAB should hire a chartered accountant to ascertain exact amount pending against the accused.
After hearing the argument, the court directed NAB for the specification of liability of shiekh Afzal and called both counsels for final judgment.
