LHC seeks govt reply on appointment of Chairman ATIR

LAHORE: Lahore high Court (LHC) has issued notice to federal government and seek reply on February 25  in case of appointment of Chairman Appellate Tribunal of Inland Revenue Javaid Iqbal.

According to the details, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah heard the case which is filed by the secretary general of Pakistan Tax Bar Association Abdul Qadoos Mughal.

The counsel of appellant Muhammad Ashraf Advocate argued before the court that the criteria for appointment of Chairman Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue is that he/she must have ten years experience as advocate.

He added that federal government appointed Javiad Iqbal as Chairman Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue against the merit. He does not fullfil the required criteria for the above said post.

He appeal to court that court to declare notification of appointment of chairman Appellate Tribunal as null and void.
