LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to the federal government and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources on a plea filed by Malik Munsif Awan advocate, challenging decrease in petroleum prices.
In his plea, the appellant prayed that the government announced decrease in petroleum prices which is not in accordance with the prices of oil in international market.
He said that the government announced a cut of Rs 5 per liter in oil prices but according to international oil prices it should be around Rs 30. He said that the common man should be given the benefits of decreased oil prices.
The LHC has accepted the plea for regular hearing and issued notices to the federal government and the Petroleum Ministry to submit their replies on February 8.
