LHC seeks reply of Housing Ministry in FBR employee’s case

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned senior officers of the Ministry of Housing and Works in a case pertaining to the suspension of the allotment of an apartment to an employee of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah heard the application field by Tariq Khursheed, lower division clerk of the FBR.

During the hearing, the counsel for the appellant said his client went on leave to offer Haj three years ago. During his absence, the officers of the Ministry of Housing and Works allotted his apartment to Javaid Ahmed, an officer of the National Saving Center, and the appellant’s family lost their home.

He added more, the appellant is a poor man and leaving in a rental home from last three years but he cannot afford the burden of rent. He said that the court decided the case in year 2013 in favour of the appellant but the ministry did not hand over the apartment to the house.

After hearing the arguments from appellant side, the court remarked that the orders must be implemented. The court also issued notice to the ministry seeking reply on December 15.

The court also called the Javaid Ahmed officer of National Saving Center to present before the court on the said date.
