LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended Rs1.25billion sales tax notice to Wateen Telecom. The court adjourned the hearing till February 2, 2017.
Justice Abid Aziz Shiekh heard the case in which counsel for appellant company argued that the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) is not authorized to collect tax from Wateen Telecom. The Punjab Revenue Authority has surpassed its authority.
Counsel for appellant pleaded with the court to declare null and void the sales tax notice issued to the Wateen Telecom.
After hearing of arguments, the court has suspended the tax notice served on the Wateen Telecom till further order.
