LHC suspends SROs, declares regulatory duty ultra vires, illegal

KARACHI: The Lahore High Court has declared the Regulatory Duty levied vide SRO-568(I)/2014 dated 26-6-2014 and SRO 18(I)/2015 dated14-1-2015 as ultra vires and illegal.

The importers would get benefit on over 200 items of different natures being imported including steel sheets, mobile phones, milk powder etc. Whereas, it is feared that the national exchequer could lose billions of rupees revenue after this decisions.
