LHC suspends tax notice issued to LNG contractor company

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended a tax recovery notice served on the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) contractor company by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Justice Aisah-A-Malik heard the case in which counsel for appellant ‘PGP’, the contractor company for LNG, has argued that company has installed machinery in Pakistan for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

He further informed the court that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed taxes of millions of rupees on the company illegally. He added that the imported machinery has been exempted from the tax.

Appellant counsel also prayed before the court that the court may declare null and void the tax notice issued by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to Company.

After the hearing, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has suspended the Sales Tax notice. The case has been adjourned till the next date of hearing.
