MULTAN: The Livestock Department has started screening sacrificial animals at all the entry points to prevent Congo virus from infecting people.
The Livestock officials would apply special spray at the sacrificial animals and vaccinate them before pasting sticker on their bodies for their entry into the city, officials said in a meeting chaired by DCO Nadir Chatha to finalise steps to check spread of Congo fever disease and establishment of sacrificial animals’ markets in Multan district.
The DCO said that there was no immediate threat of Congo virus in Multan; however, all relevant departments had been put on alert.
