KARACHI: Much-awaited LNG shipment finalled arrived at the Karachi port from Qatar on Thursday, passing a sigh of relief to the gas crisis-hit Pakistan.
Sources in the Sui Southern Gas Company told Dunya News that the cargoes arrived late in Pakistan because of the cyclone Biparjoy in the Arabian Sea.
They said the gas had been injected in the distribution system and that the gas to the power, fertliser and other sectors had been completely restored. “The gas supply to the housing sector is being improved after the arrival of LNG.”
On the other hand, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) claimed that there is no shortfall as 1,800mmcfd is available in the system.
