WASHINGTON: A floating terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) worth €20 million will be built in the next four years at the Port of Bratislava by an association called Danube LNG, the TASR newswire learnt on March 3.
The terminal, currently in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) phase, will cover an area of 2.52 hectares, providing ship displacement capacity of up to 5,000 tonnes.
It is expected that construction work will commence in 2018, with operations starting from 2020. Around 25 people will be required to operate the terminal. LNG at the terminal will be stored in 12 double-mantle reservoirs, with the overall structure being designed to resist a 1,000-year flood.
