Locust attacks damage crops in South Punjab

MULTAN: Locusts attacks are on rise in several districts of South Punjab resulting in huge damages to farmers of the region.

According to details, Plant Protection Unit lacks resources to stop attacks of locusts which are getting out of control in the region including Multan.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has taken charge of fight against locusts but still attacks are increasing which is worrisome for all farmers and agricultural associations.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, being a farmer, has also reservations about the attacks and asked team, formed by PM Imran Khan under chair of Fakhar Imam, to play its role.
