HONG KONG: This bizarre image shows the moment a US lake was sucked dry of its water by a two-metre mystery hole, leaving it looking more like a park.
Locals in Oregon say the phenomenon has been happening for as long as they can remember on Lost Lake.
Scientists believe the spectacular sight is caused by a lave tube, a tunnel in the earth created to drain away lava during a volcanic eruption.
“In Lost Lake, this lava tube collapsed and became the drain hole for that lake,” Jude McHugh from the Williamette National Forest told ABC News.
