Low attendance witnessed in Customs, FBR offices

LAHORE: Due to protests in provincial metropolitan low attendance witnessed in all customs and FBR offices in the city.

Due to blockage in main roads of the city, most staff members of customs offices did not reached their offices on time. According to rough estimates only fifty percent of staff reached their offices using alternative routes. The offices which faced low attendance included Customs House, Corporate Regional Tax Office, Large Taxpayers Unit, Regional Tax Office-II.

Some staff members of Customs House told Customs Today that due to disturbance in mobile networking they faced difficulties in coordinating with customs staff who are performing their duties in field formations. While Field Intelligence Unit staff also conveyed that they are facing hurdles in performing their duties.

Sources told that there are optimistic that the ongoing protests will end soon and life become normal soon.
