KARACHI: The General Secretary of Lower Employees Association, Syed Aftab Hussain Shah Hamdani requested FBR top officials to arrange CPF meeting to address the issues of employees.

As per details, the meeting of Common Pool Funds (CPF) Committee and Welfare Trust has not been convened for last 2 years. The last CPF meeting was convened by the Collector MCC-Appraisement Abdul Rashid Shaikh in the year, 2012.

The Chairman and Co-chairman of the CPF Committee have a privilege to call on the meeting every year or any time if desired. Collector MCC-Appraisement-West Muhammad Saleem is the current Chairman and Collector MCC-Preventive Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda is a Co-chairman of the Committee.

The Customs officials were of the view that the both Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Committee were of the officers of having good repute, however; it is surprising that they have not convened any CPF Committee meeting during the last 2 years.

They further said that the every year issues of employees’ welfare association, examiners’ association, Class-IV association, Preventive Service Association and appraisers association were discussed in the CPF meetings.

The General Secretary of Lower Employees Association, Syed Aftab Hussain Shah Hamdani told Customs Today that the issues of the Class-IV employees of Pakistan Customs have been increased day by day and there is a dire need to organize CPF Committee meeting to think about the solutions.

“It seems that top officers of Pakistan Customs have no concern with the issues faced by Class-IV employees as they were not ready to discuss them in CPF meeting” he added.

On the occasion, Hamdani demanded of the FBR authorities to take the matter into consideration and make arrangements for holding CPF Committee meeting, so that the issues of the lower Customs officials could be redressed.
