DUBLIN: Apple will deliver iOS 11.3 this spring with a range of new features including augmented reality elements on iPhone and iPad, the ability to view health records in the health app and Business Chat, a service that Lowe’s plans to use.
Business Chat is a new way for users to communicate directly with companies via messages, Apple noted. Business Chat will launch in beta with the public availability of iOS 11.3 this spring.
With Business Chat, consumers can conduct a conversation with a company representative, schedule an appointment or make purchases using Apple Pay in the messages app. Business Chat doesn’t share the user’s contact information with businesses, Apple stated, and users can exit a chat at any time.
Other businesses that will incorporate the service on launch include Discover, Hilton and Wells Fargo.
